The Commissioning Process

Please be sure you've read my FAQ page. There is information there that will be helpful before you contact me for a commission.

step 01

step 02

Thoroughly read my FAQ page; Yes, I'm going to restate this and don't send payment first.
Know what you want;
I don't necessarily mind it when people just give me a bunch of ideas to go with and then just have a carefree attitude about how their commission turns out but if that's what you want, that's all I'm concerned about.

Know what you want and communicate that well. this is more than just, "I want a full body in style c." This can also include outfit preferences, mood, theme, etc. If you want something specific, be sure to communicate that!
Gather your references;

References are very important. I'm not picky about picture quality. Just make sure the lighting isn't too dark or grainy. if you have a great lit picture that is straight on that is the best to send!

 I require at least 3 references PER PERSON. The more the better! One must be a portrait/bust of your face and one must be full body or mostly of your entire body (I won't be picky if the picture cuts off at your shins or something). And a third of a picture of whatever you'd like.

If you don't provide references for an outfit, mostly I'll take from what you're wearing in the initial 3 references. But if you want, please be sure to provide references for anything specific you want - outfit, makeup, hair styling, posing, expressions, etc.

step 03

Send in your commission request;

Send your request to my email - saucyartwork@gmail. The following content requirements is just a guideline. Be friendly and say hi as well, I don't mind. No need to be disconnected! C:

Subject - state the type of commission you'd like (fullbody/waist up/bust up in style A/B/C)

Body of the email -

  • What's your name?

  • Tell me how you found out about me - facebook, tumblr (if so leave me your url so I can tag you when I post the art to my other media site profiles!), etc.

  • Restate what type of commission you were looking to get!

  • Then tell me any interests, hobbies, or passions you have that you'd think would be great for the commission (Example; "I love baking, so making having me holding a cute cupcake would be cute!"). Just keep in mind if you want certain things included to make it more personalized, it could change the price, which isn't all that common (usually happens if someone wants me to add a pet).

  • Please state physical specifics about yourself that might not be apparent with the references. Most importantly please tell me your eye color. Majority of the time I cannot tell through pictures. Other specifics could be body mods, hair color, scars, etc.

  • Last tell me any ideas. Please try to be as cohesive and clear as possible. Do you want a theme? Color scheme?

step 04

Getting a response and payment;

I could take 1-2 days before I respond to your request. If it takes longer than a week, don't be shy and send me another email asking me if I've reviewed it. But usually I respond that same day telling you whether I can accept your request or not. If I can't, it's most likely because I have a heavy workload already and may ask you to wait a certain time frame before I'm comfortable enough to commit to another commission. If I do accept it I'll ask any questions or request anything else I may need (references for example) and then you can send payment and you're officially on my commission list and will have your own piece of art in 2-3 weeks time!

i only accept paypal as a method of payment. It's easy and free to use!

step 05

step 06

waiting and getting your art;

As I've stated numerous times it can take up to 2-3 weeks till you get your art. And once again I almost always tell someone when I'm about to begin so I can get them posted. I understand wanting to check in on the progress I've made but please, if it hasn't been longer than 3 weeks without contact from me, don't ask me if I'm working on it or if I've forgotten about you!

A good way to keep track yourself is by looking on the sites where I usually post art (I don't post every commission tho) so you can actually see me working my way down the list. Usually when I contact you to tell you I'm about to begin I'll give you a new time frame like 2 days or by the end of the week.

once done I'll send you an email with the attached file and there you go! I would like to collect reviews and testimonials, so if you're happy enough with it, whipping up a quick positive review for me to use for my site possible would be awesome! c:
